Indication

BRAND X, a prescription medicine containing brunnemine and athenalin, is used to treat chronic (lasting a long time) hepatitis C genotype 1 in adults.  It is not known if BRAND X is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking BRAND X?

  • If you have: liver problems other than hepatitis C infection; severe kidney problems or are on dialysis; any other medical condition; or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed. It is not known if Brand X will harm your unborn baby or pass into breast milk.

  • If you take rifampin (Rifadin®, Rifamate®, Rifater®), St. John’s wort or a product that contains St. John’s wort. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. BRAND X may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect how BRAND X works.
